The extraordinary realm Frank Frazetta creates of powerful warriors, voluptuous women and fantastic worlds is achieved through Mr. Frazetta's vivid imagination, outstanding draughtsmanship and superlative technique. Having visited the Frank Frazetta Museum this is readily apparent when viewing his original paintings. His use of vibrant colors and soft edges, accentuated by the play of light and dark circulating through his well composed pieces create a marvelous mood.
With the same assuredness as his paintings, Frank Frazetta's drawings created for comics and as independent works exhibit deft handling of the ink medium. Wonderful effects are created through a variety of textures and marks, from exquisite hatching techniques to a free flowing line.
With Mr. Frazetta's passing in May of 2010, he has left a rich legacy through his work that is to be enjoyed.
