In the course of caring for my mother and giving her prescribed medication I have become aware of various name brand and generic pills and other health related products sold as prescription and non-prescription that have impurities on the surface, in the coating (where applicable) as well as embedded within the pill. I have had to resort to rinsing her pills with water and screening them as much as possible. These impurities appear as red, black and other color fibers of varying lengths, particulate matter and lint. This is what is observable. Who knows what is in the pill that cannot be seen. These impurities appear in sealed manufacturer bottles and un-sealed containers of pills dispensed by publicly traded pharmacies.
The benefit that appropriately used high quality medicine can provide is of tremendous value. Conversely, contaminated products are harmful. Government agencies should be inspecting pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities and going into pharmacies, pulling products off shelves and routinely inspecting them to determine if they are tainted. Where is quality control? Is it shoddy production? Is it the intentional poisoning of people to cause more health problems requiring additional medication to drive profits or is it for some other reason? Given the many people requiring health related products perhaps the current administration will address this. All people deserve better.
